Lagos State lawmakers Hon. Lukmon Olumoh and Hon. Sabour Oluwa, representing Ajeromi-Ifelodun Constituencies 1 and 2 respectively, have met with stakeholders in the community over the planned dualization of the Ojo Road stretch from Suru-Alaba to Boundary Junction.
The meeting, held Thursday, included traditional rulers, artisans, residents, political leaders, and local contractors. It was aimed at preparing the community for the road expansion project facilitated in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.
Hon. Olumoh, who chairs the House Committee on Budget and Appropriation, said the road project has been a key priority since he joined the Assembly in 2019. He noted that the Ojo Road was included in the 2025 Lagos State budget following approval by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, and the state governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

“This road and others in Ajeromi have been my focus. As chairman of the budget committee, I ensured they were captured in the state’s 2025 budget. Now, implementation is about to begin,” he said.
He urged residents to cooperate with the contractors, noting that demolitions will occur from Alaba Junction to Boundary to clear the right of way.
Also speaking, Hon. Sabour Oluwa called for vigilance during construction and encouraged residents to report issues that may require urgent intervention.
Deputy Director of Infrastructure at the Ministry of Works, Engr. Mrs. Oluwatoyin Banke-William, described the project as a long-term development spanning 3.75km in length and 24 meters in width. It will include culverts, drainage, solar-powered streetlights, and walkways.
She assured residents that affected structures will be compensated where necessary, and that local labour will be sourced from the community to create jobs throughout the estimated 18-month construction period.
The event was attended by political stakeholders, traditional rulers, service chiefs, artisans, and residents of Ajeromi-Ifelodun.
