The Lagos state High Court in Ikeja Holden at Hon Justice A.M Lamidi on Wednesday 11th of December stop Mr Olasukunmi Ibrahim Lawal from parading himself as Oni Isheri of Isheri kingdom in Alimosho .
The Claimants : Alhaji Lamidi Adebiyi , Alhaji Moruf Adebiyi and Prince Lukeman Jayeola Adebiyi against Mr Olasukanmi Ibrahim , ,Fasasi Kehinde Balogun Adewusi Erinfolami , Executives chairman Egbe idimu ,Chieftency Committee in Alimosho, Ministry of Chieftaincy and Community Affairs , Governor of Lagos state were also captured on the injunction.
According to the Claimants,the case is yet to get judgment at the other court before Mr Ibrahim Olasukanmi and host of other disregard the proceedings to conduct an Installation of oni Isheri.
The proceedings which read that the procurement is spelled out in the Chieftaincy Declaration of August 24 ,1983 required a ifa or priest to play vital role in the declaration was voided by the defendant .
Therefore, the injunction read thus , since the proceedings was not in accordance with the Chieftaincy Declaration of installing a king in the community, No ifa ,No priest was involved except by election is voided.
Hence , a new Oba need to be produce from decision of kingmakers in accordance with the Chieftaincy Declaration, therefore ,the court stop Mr Olasukanmi Ibrahim for calling and parading himself as Oba – Elect.
Meanwhile , counsel to the Claimants Mr G .m. O Oguntade ,S.A.N in his submission stated that ” it is abnormal for an institution to go ahead and install a king when the matter is still in the court of jurisdiction , also it will be out of law for a system to just embark on the a process with consultation “, he further stated that ” we gotten our injunction from the court as a law abiding citizen to secure a stay that have being granted , we are not move but calm as we wait for the previous judgement, also their lawyer was in court as he is served.
Meanwhile, normalcy have returned to Isheri Olofin Kingdom as all parties await the judgement , stakeholders have called on the Lagos state government to properly seek consultation before proceeding on a royal institution for clarity sake .
