The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is currently combating a fuel tanker fire on the Epe-Ijebu Ode Expressway near the Old Toll Gate in Mojoda, Epe, Lagos State.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, confirmed the incident and assured the public that efforts are ongoing to manage the situation.
“Our firefighters are on the scene working tirelessly to bring the fire under control. Fortunately, there are no vulnerable persons within the area apart from the tanker occupant,” Adeseye stated.
The cause of the fire and the condition of the tanker occupant remain unclear as of press time. The agency has urged residents to steer clear of the area to ensure their safety.
