The death has occured of a popular Islamic singer, Rukayat Gawat. She died in the early hours of Tuesday as confirmed by Jubril Gawat, a relative of the deceased and a Senior Special Assistant n New Media to Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu of Lagos state via his verified X handle @MrJAGs.
Jubril Gawat had wrote on his handle at around 7:52 AM on tuesday, ““Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.” Q 2 V 156,” . The tweet attracted many reactions which confirmed the passing of the singer.
Although information about the cause of her death is not yet made available to the public, her remains would be buried later today in accordance with Islamic burial rites.
