Former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 Lagos State election, Olajide Adediran (a.k.a Jandor), has formally declared his intention to contest in the 2027 governorship election in the state under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adediran, the founder of the Lagos4Lagos movement, made his ambition public in a post on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, simultaneously launching a campaign website to anchor his bid.
In his announcement, Adediran framed his campaign as a collaborative and open effort. “I am excited to announce the official launch of www.jandoroflagos.com – the digital heartbeat of our journey towards the 2027 Lagos State APC Governorship Primaries,” he stated.
He described the newly launched platform as more than just a promotional site, positioning it as a hub for public engagement. “This isn’t just a website; it’s an open civic space. As I seek the nomination of our party, I’m opening the doors for every Lagosian to interrogate our ideas, contribute to our vision, and help shape the policy agenda for a more prosperous state,” Adediran wrote.
The aspirant acknowledged the potential for a competitive field within his party, noting, “While I acknowledge there may be other qualified Aspirants within our party, who are yet to personally express their ambition, my focus remains on the Leadership and Members of the Party as well as the people of Lagos.”
Adediran concluded his declaration with a call to action, inviting public participation in shaping his policy agenda. “Real change is a shared responsibility. Visit the site today to see our roadmap for an inclusive Lagos and join the conversation. Let’s build the Lagos we all deserve,” he urged, signing off as “JANDOR of Lagos.”
This move signals Adediran’s early and structured entry into what is anticipated to be a keenly contested race for the APC gubernatorial ticket ahead of the 2027 polls in Nigeria’s commercial capital.
