Ogun Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-Corruption has commended the management of the State Bureau of Information Technology led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, Mr. Dayo Abiodun, on the improvement in technology design and innovation brought into governance in the State.
The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Damilare Bello, gave the commendation, while examining the financial records of the Bureau as part of the ongoing consideration of the audit report of Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government in the State.
Hon. Bello said the Bureau could do more if necessary technology infrastructure was put in place to aid its performance.
The Committee Chairman sought the need for the Bureau to improve on its records keeping, while requesting for supporting documents relating to local trainings and capacity building among others.
The Committee also considered the audit report on PlantGate Equipment Hire Services Limited, with a request for a review of its status for government to take appropriate decision for the progress of the company.
He also directed the company to provide supporting documents in relation to the sales of its scrap machineries, as well as the details of the income and expenditure of the company from January to December for years 2021 and 2022.
