Wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu has expressed sadness over the Christmas eve attacks in Plateau state. More than 1000 persons have died after fresh attacks on several communities of Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of the State, while many are still receiving treatment as of Wednesday.
In a statement issued by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media, Busola Kukoyi, the former Senator commiserate with the surviving victims and the families of the dead, saying that she hopes the assailants will be brought to book as soon as possible.
She said: “I am deeply saddened by the unfortunate attacks in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State, which have resulted in the devastating loss of many lives.
“My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the victims and families affected in this very sad incident. It is my hope that the perpetrators of this heinous crime are apprehended and swiftly brought to book.” Mrs Tinubu also prayed that the attackers will repent.
Over 10,000 people were displaced by the attacks.
