Olumide Akpata, Labour Party governorship candidate in the Edo Sept. 21 election says that with the calibre of persons in the party’s campaign council, he is confident of victory.
Akpata said this while speaking with journalists, shortly after the inauguration of the party’s campaign council, led by Rev. Sam Omede, as the Director General.
He said that the journey to Edo Government House was not an easy task, hence, the need for a campaign council made up of experienced party members.
“The inauguration of our campaign council and sub-committee is a significant milestone in our campaign to win the Sept. 21 election.
“The campaign members understand politicking and the political terrain, and they are also loyal party men and women,” Akpata said.
Earlier, the party’s Chairman, Kelly Ogbaloi, who inaugurated the campaign council, charged them to win more eligible voters to ensure victory for the party
Ogbaloi said that there were over 30 strategic committees that would work in collaboration with the Sam Omede-led committee in the state.
He said that apart from the state campaign council, there were senatorial, local government, and ward coordinators to help project the party’s candidate across the state.
