The Ogun assembly has approved the revised Medium Term Expenditure Framework for years 2024-2026 for the State, it received through a correspondence from Gov. Dapo Abiodun on November 28.
The approval followed a presentation of the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation by the Chairman, Musefiu Lamidi.
Lamidi later moved for its adoption, seconded by the Minority Leader, Lukman Adeleye and supported by the Whole House.
The motion for the approval of the State MTEF was moved by the Majority Leader Yusuf Sheriff, seconded by Yusuf Amosun and supported by the Whole House through a voice vote.
Meanwhile, the assembly had commended Dangote Cement factory Ibese, for fulfilling its part of obligations to the host communities by delivering the electrical materials needed to replace those damaged by its trucks, which led to power outage in the host communities.
The Speaker, who made the commendation, while responding to the presentation of the lawmaker representing Yewa North 1 State Constituency, Hon. Adegoke Adeyanju, also enjoined the Management of the Company to immediately begin the process of construction of trailer park near its plant to stop the indiscriminate parking of trucks on the roads in the area.
This is just as Speaker Oluomo requested the company to carry out repairs or apply palliatives on roads around the company, while calling on the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure as well as local government councils to carry out palliatives on damaged portions of roads in the State.
Earlier Hon. Adeyanju had informed the Assembly on the need to appreciate the company for fulfilling its promise towards contributing to re-energize the communities that had been thrown in to darkness following the damage caused by its truck drivers to electrical installations in the area.
