In what has become a regular practice, the Dangote Petrolchemicals Refinery has once again announced a further reduction in the ex-gantry price of its Premium Motor Spirit also known as petrol. The private refinery has offered fresh N10 from its price of N845 per litre recently announced.
The “ex-gantry price” of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, refers to the price of the product at the point of departure from the storage facilities (often referred to as the “gantry”) at the fuel depots.
This latest reduction means that tankers will now load PMS from the refinery at the rate of N835 per litre. Acoording to sources, marketers who had gone to load the product still paid N835 per litre for products but were later refunded N10 as a rebate after loading the product.
Last month, the refinery reduced the gantry price of petrol to N835 per litre from N865 per litre.
With this latest development, Nigerians buying petrol from filling stations stocking Dangote petrol may start to enjoy reduction in their pump price from today, Monday.
