It was a narrow escape for about 10 Very Important Personalities (VIPs) on Friday morning when a private aircraft in which they were traveling crashed landed in Ibadan. No casualties were recorded in the accident.
According to a report monitored on Channels TV, the plane was forcefully landed at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, around 11am on Friday. It overshot the runway but was fortunately stipped by the bush nearby
The aircraft with registration number N580KR was travelling from Abuja to a destination in the southwest.
Firefightere and rescue team from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) rushed to the scene to ensure the safety of the passengers and assess the situation on ground, for further actions.
Confirming the accident, a spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Carol Adekotujo said: “It was a private plane from Abuja. It landed safely but overshot the runway. There was no casualty.”
