Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the familiar face and voice of the Nigeria Police Force, has been promoted to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). His elevation from Assistant Commissioner was confirmed following approval by the Police Service Commission.
Adejobi has been the Force Public Relations Officer since February 2022, initially taking on the role in acting capacity as a Chief Superintendent of Police. He succeeded Frank Mba and was later confirmed under the leadership of former IGP Usman Alkali Baba (Rtd.).
Over the past two years, Adejobi has led efforts to rebrand the police’s public image, driving campaigns aimed at transparency, citizen engagement, and digital communication upgrades.
Known for his accessible media style and strong defense of the institution, Adejobi is also academically grounded, he earned a degree in Archaeology and Geography from the University of Ibadan.
His rise within the ranks is seen by observers as a nod to both performance and loyalty in a demanding role.
