Anthony Joshua has defeated Cameroonian and former UFC champion, Francis Ngannou in the latter’s second professional boxing bout. Jposhua won by a knockout in a destructive fight which took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday. THe bout lasted for about two rounds before the Nigerian born British boxer knocked out Ngannou in style.
Recall that Ngannou gave Tyson Fury a tough time in his debut match last October. Fury had suffered a knockdown before settling for a split decision win.
In manners reminiscent of his impressive performance against Fury, the Cameroonian boxer started off against Joshua with so much confidence until he was boxed down by the former World Heavyweight Champion.
Joshua however encouraged the former UFC fighter not to feel too devastated by the lost, He promised to be in support on the Cameroonian fighter in his newfound boxing career.
“He’s an inspiration, a great champion, and this shouldn’t take away from his capabilities. He can come again. I told him he shouldn’t leave boxing. He’s two fights in, and he’s fought the best.
“He can go a long way if he stays dedicated.
“Francis Ngannou beat the WBC heavyweight champion of the world – I should be WBC heavyweight champion of the world,” joked Joshua. “He’s a dreamer, a risk-taker, that story of his should not be clouded by tonight.”
“You are an inspiration. You will beat a lot of people. Don’t leave boxing. Don’t leave boxing.

With this victory, Joshua tnow has a record of 28-3 in his career. He is expected to face the winner of the bout between Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, who will scheduled for May 18.
