The Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA) recently held a one-day training session for its technical staff, focusing on the laws and regulations governing their duties for effective job delivery.
TPL Olatunji Odunlami, Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, said that continuous training aligns with the current administration’s commitment to professional development, noting that the initiative was aimed at enhancing their understanding and application of the legal framework guiding physical planning and urban development in the state. He urged staff to leverage such opportunities to advance their careers.
“The Ogun State Urban and Regional Planning and Development Law 2022 and the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Regulations 2022 are the legal instruments backing your activities, and it is your responsibility to be very familiar with them,” the Commissioner stated.
Engr. Sakirudeen Salaam, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, encouraged participants to actively engage, listen attentively, and seek clarification on any confusing aspects of the laws or regulations.
Similarly, the Acting General Manager stressed the importance of professionalism and strict adherence to the OGPDP Regulation 2022 for the long-term security of the officers.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, TPL Waheed Olayinka, expressed gratitude to the management for the regular training exercises, assuring that the staff would strive to represent both the Authority and the State government positively at all time.
