As residents of Ogun state prepare for this weekend’s local government election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dissociated itself from all newspaper advertorials or media contents campaigning for candidates or appertaining to any form of publicity for the election.
A statement signed by the party’s publicity secretary in the state, Tunde Oladunjoye emphasised that, the APC is not involved in any publicity beyond the midnight of Thursday 14 November.
This is in line with the guideline of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) which forbids political campaigns beyond 48 hours prior to an election.

Oladunjoye said: “…The All Progressives Congress (APC) at the state, local government and ward levels has not directed, initiated, commissioned, or approved any advertorial or jingles in the newspaper, radio, television, online, social media or whatsoever platform on behalf of the party and its 20 Chairmanship and 236 councillorship candidates beyond the midnight of Thursday, November 14th, 2024.”
The local government election will hold on Saturday, 16th November across the 20 local government areas and 236 wards in the state.
Already a curfew has been declared by INEC during the poll.
