The Governor’s Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) against turning Osun State into the “wild wild west,” calling for adherence to the rule of law and advising against self-help actions.
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, spoke on behalf of the forum in Osogbo, alongside the PDP Governors Forum Chairman, Governor Bala Muhammed of Bauchi State. The two governors attended the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected council chairmen in a show of solidarity with Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The PDP Governors Forum urged those causing unrest in Osun to remember the past and learn from history, cautioning that the state should not be plunged into crisis over issues that can be resolved through the judiciary.
Governor Makinde called on the APC to “leave Osun State alone,” stressing that any grievances should be addressed through legal channels rather than through self-help.
“The PDP and its Governors are only interested in delivering the dividends of democracy to our people,” Governor Makinde stated. “My brother is delivering on his promises to the people of Osun state.”
He further emphasized that any party with a judgment should follow the proper legal procedure for enforcement. “It is illegal to resort to self-help,” the Governor concluded.
