The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended leaders from the South-West geo-political zone for fostering a “renewed spirit of understanding, unity, and cooperation” following a recently concluded regional stakeholders’ dialogue.
In a statement issued on Thursday and sent to TheWest by its spokesman, Hon. Seye Oladejo, the party described the convergence as a “powerful lesson in leadership maturity” that transcended political affiliations and generations.
The dialogue, which brought together political, traditional, and thought leaders from across the region, was highlighted as a model of inclusive engagement. According to the statement, the event featured ministers from the South-West who presented a “coordinated vision for regional development and national progress,” showcasing “unity backed by accountability.”
“Their demonstration of unity across party lines and generations represents a powerful lesson in leadership maturity – one that transcends personal ambition and political affiliations,” the Lagos APC stated.
The party praised the gathering for prioritizing collective prosperity and regional integration, asserting that the South-West has “once again shown that progress is achievable when unity of purpose replaces division, and when ideas, not egos, drive engagement.”
In a call to action, the Lagos APC urged other geo-political zones in Nigeria to emulate the South-West’s example. “The time has come for every part of the country to emulate the South/West model of visionary politics – one that is built on enlightenment, tolerance, economic cooperation, and the pursuit of the common good,” the statement read.
The party also used the opportunity to position Lagos State as “the heartbeat of the South/West and the cradle of modern progressivism,” and reaffirmed its commitment to the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom it described as “a true son of the South-West.”
The Lagos APC framed the dialogue as a national imperative, stating that such cooperation is essential to “take Nigeria to the next level of peace, unity, and prosperity.”
