The Lagos state APC screening Committee has declared 540 candidates ready for Saturday Local Government Area Congress in 20 local government in the state.
The chairman of the Lagos state screening committee from the National Party Barrister Nungji Salama expressed readiness in his remark during a press conference at the State party secretariat on Friday.
The 16 man committee assured the media of a favorable condition during the exercise and promised a fair play to all players, according to Nungji the state committee will also be working with them as he called them to serve diligently in accordance with the slogan of the party.
He further stated that 27 Excos candidates have been screened for the 20 LG each, which will result to 540 candidates across the local government areas, he sue for peace, and unity as the exercise will be conducted tomorrow Saturday 21, he appealed that all that were not involved in the screening should endeavor to work along with the exercise as they look forward to a successful process.
Earlier, the state Chairman, Pastor Ojelabi Cornelius observed provisions of the electoral act which he described as a critical aspect in conducting the Congress.

He said: “The content of the electoral act is very critical to the party that is why we have used it to work as a road map for this Congress, hence, the Congress is an avenue for us to drive our party as progressive because it is not business as usual, so I urge everyone that will be represented at the local government level to consider how prepared they are, so as to perform very well.”
The screening committee which comprises of party executive from different states include :
- Barr SN Salama
- Prof Netawe Jeneduwa
- Hon Mankinde
- Joseph Tanwa, and
- Dr Ibrahim Hassan
The appeal committee members are:
- Hon Ahmed Osa
- Engr David Woso
- Lawal Fagbemi
- Mike Oyibade
- Amaka
- Israel Famuyiwa
- Sulieman Lawal .
The committee also have different state officers of the Party drawn from former Lagos state house of assembly, House of Representatives and local government executive Chairmen among others
