The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO), has officially opened its gates for its first-ever academic session, kicking off a landmark journey with a maiden Post-UTME screening exercise.
In a historic milestone for the newly established federal institution, the pioneer administration led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Olaniyi Babayemi announced the commencement of online registration, marking the formal start of its academic activities.
Situated in the Kajola Local Government Area, the management says FUNATO is positioned to become a specialized centre for agricultural innovation fused with modern technology.
“This is a landmark step toward building a science-driven centre of excellence that integrates agriculture with technology,” stated Professor Babayemi in an official release on Friday.
He emphasized the university’s commitment to producing “graduates who are academically sound, technologically proficient and entrepreneurially inclined,” with the skills to tackle national and global challenges.
The university has set its foundational admission standards and a firm timeline for its inaugural cohort. Only candidates who selected FUNATO as their first-choice institution in the 2025/2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be considered for this pioneer admission cycle.
The management has urged all eligible prospective students, whom it described as the “pioneers who will lay the foundation” for the university’s future, to complete their online registration promptly before the deadline next week.
