A devastating fire has razed the head office of Fresh FM Nigeria located at Challenge, Ibadan, on Friday evening, August 15, 2025.
In a statement issued by the management, the inferno consumed the studios of Fresh 105.9 FM and Blast 98.3 FM, leaving them badly burnt. Key facilities, including the newsroom, transmitter/server room, and several vital pieces of equipment, were also destroyed during active operations.
The station explained that all initial efforts to put out the fire with in-house fire extinguishers failed due to the intensity of the blaze. Professional firefighters later joined in the battle to contain the flames.
At the moment, the cause of the fire has not been determined, and the extent of the damage is yet to be quantified.
Samson Akindele, Group Head of Corporate Affairs for Fresh FM Nigeria and Yinka Ayefele Limited, expressed gratitude to residents around the complex, passersby, and officials of the Oyo State Fire Service for their swift response and assistance during the emergency.
“We heartily appreciate everyone good-spirited Nigerians who joined us in fighting the inferno… we appreciate everyone for their assistance during the emergency,” the statement read in part.
Fresh FM Nigeria, founded by gospel singer Yinka Ayefele, is one of the leading radio stations in Ibadan with a large listenership across the Southwest.
