The immediate past council chairmen in Ogun have expressed disappointment, denying supporting the former chairman of Ijebu East local government, Wale Adedayo’s accusation against the governor of the state Dapo Abiodun.
Adedayo, who was suspended and later impeached had accused Abiodun of diverting allocations intended for 20 local government areas in the state.
The former chairmen on Monday at a news conference in Abeokuta explained that Adedayo acted alone, describing him as a liar on a mission to pull others down.
Babatunde Emilola-Gazal , immediate past chairman of Ijebu Ode local government said the letter was written without their involvement and were only informed after he had sent it out.
Emilola-Gazal who was the ALGON chairman described him as a liar, who acted alone in the allegations.
“ The truth is that Wale acted alone and all efforts to make him allow for internal resolution of the crisis failed because he made it clear that he was acting in concert with external forces and wouldn’t do anything until he had a meeting with them.
“Wale is definitely acting a script and trying to pull down other people. He does not need to do this,” he said.
He asked Adedayo to stop “destroying people who tried to protect him,” stating that “it was inhumane to do so.”
