The judge trying famous cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos has reserved the judgment of the controversial popular figure, till April 9, 2024. This came after Bobrisky pleaded guilty to the offence of abusing the naira.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had on Thursday arrested and detained Bobrisky, for spraying naira notes at a party held at the IMAX circle Mall in highbrow Lekki area of Lagos. He is also facing a charge for money laundering to the tune of N180m. He was detained at the Lagos Command of the EFCC after the arrest on Thursday.
Bobrisky however pleaded guilty to the charges, while claiming to be ignorant of the law on currency abuse.
His words: “I know, My Lord. My Lord, I wish that you could give me a second chance to use my platform to inform and educate my followers about spraying money.
“I would do a video on my page and I will educate people about spraying money.
“I will not repeat it again. I regret my actions.” He said.
After listening to the cross dresser, Awogboro ordered that he should be returned to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s custody pending the judgment.
