The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed the arrest of popular cross-dresser Idris Okuneye whom many know as BOBRISKY.
The commission’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, said Bobrisky was arrested at Pinnock Estate in Lagos State on Wednesday for allegedly abusing the naira notes, which is against the law of the land.
Recall that a top monarch in Ogun state, the Olu of Owode in Obafemi/Owode Local Government of Ogun State, Oba Kolawole Sowemimo, was recently suspended by the council of Oba in the state, for a similar offence.
Speaking about the arrest of Bobrisky, Oyewale said, “He was arrested last night in Lagos, and he is at our Lagos command. We arrested him for alleged abuse of naira notes, spraying of nara notes, and currency mutilation, among others.
“We are very serious about restoring the dignity of the naira. Though our investigation is still ongoing, but he will definitely be charged to court soon.”
The EFCC representative also added that Bobrisky would be charged in court soon for trial according to the Nigerian laws
