Popular musician and proprietor of Fresh FM group of Radio stations, Blast and TiwanTiwa FM, Dr Yinka Ayefele has described the recent multiple resignation of some voices from the stations, as inevitable.
Recall that some famous Presenters recently exited the stations, a few months after veteran Yoruba talk show host, Wole Sorunke, fondly called “MC Murphy” also left the Abeokuta branch of the radio, under controversial situation.
Murphy had claimed that he did nothing wrong for two of his programmes to be removed on air, unceremoniously.
McMurphy said: “Through my two popular programmes, I have done my best to project the image of the radio to people within and outside Nigeria, hence I did not deserve this kind of a treatment” adding that, he was not fairly treated by the radio and that, he voluntarily quit the station.
The new set of anchors who left include Babatunde Saheed (Mr. Sport), Oyetayo Oladimeji (Mc Handsome), Adesina Jagunmade (Paj 1) and Akinwale Fasasi (Wiseman).
Speaking through the Group Head of Corporate Affairs, Fresh FM Nigeria and Yinka Ayefele Limited, Samson Akindele, Dr Ayefele claimed that the Quartet “left for other businesses and professional endeavours”, adding that the development is “a natural reality any organization could go through in the usually competitive corporate journey.”
Although there have been insinuations in some quarters that the programme hosts parted ways with the stations due to maltreatment by the station’s management, Ayefele insisted that “none of the presenters who recently left Fresh FM Nigeria did so with any form of acrimony or chaos.
“Even as it could be said that no one is indispensable, we can categorically say that those who just left the company would be missed in their areas of expertise and influence, because of their positive contributions to the meteoric rise of the Fresh FM brand since inception in 2015. That is why the company is extending the best of wishes to them as they journey into new business and professional environments.”
Fresh FM, founded by Ayefele started transmission in 2015 in Ibadan after running for a while on the internet. The group has Fresh FM Ibadan, Abeokuta, Ado Ekiti, Osogbo, Lagos and Akure, as well as Blast FM and Tiwa-n-tiwa FM in Ibadan.
