Former Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, has launched a scathing critique of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration, declaring that the federal government has scored “A1 in Politics and F9 in Good Governance.”
Aregbesola, who now represents the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made the statement on Tuesday while addressing a crowd of supporters in the Ila/Ifedayo/Boluwaduro Federal Constituency of Osun State.
The event marked the kick-off of the inauguration of ADC party officials and structures across the state, signaling Aregbesola’s intent to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), a party he was once a prominent member of, in the upcoming elections.
“We are the friends of the masses. The policies of the current administration have sent thousands into the shackles of poverty, hunger and bad governance,” Aregbesola told the crowd.

He sharply criticized the government’s performance on key issues, stating, “The present government at the centre has failed in the realms of security, the economy and education, which are the major yardsticks for measuring performance indices.”
The former minister also questioned the government’s infrastructure priorities, noting that over 76 percent of Nigeria’s 37,000 kilometres of federal roads are not motorable. “Instead of fixing these roads, the government is concentrating on a coastal highway that will not improve the country’s economic situation,” he argued.
Positioning the ADC as the alternative, Aregbesola harkened back to his tenure in Osun, highlighting his administration’s “people-friendly and welfarist policies,” including feeding over 50,000 children and empowering more than 60,000 youths.
He promised that the ADC is determined to “restore responsible leadership and good governance to our country” and “bring governance closer to the grassroots.”
