The All Progressives Congress (APC) has named Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori as its acting National Chairman after the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. Dalori, who is currently the Deputy National Chairman (North), has been instructed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take on the leadership role temporarily until the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meets to officially fill the position.
The news was announced in an official statement signed by the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, on Friday in Abuja. The statement revealed that Ganduje resigned to deal with “urgent and important personal matters.”
Dalori’s appointment follows Ganduje’s two-year tenure as National Chairman, which began in August 2023, succeeding Senator Abdullahi Adamu. During his time in office, Ganduje was recognized for fostering party unity, strengthening electoral performance, and managing significant defections to the APC.
As Dalori steps into the role, the party asserts that it remains “steadfast and unwavering” in its commitment to implementing President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and maintaining internal cohesion. The APC also expressed its gratitude to Ganduje for his “invaluable contributions and distinguished record of service,” wishing him well in his future endeavors.
