The APC Lagos State Chapter, under the chairmanship of Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, has unveiled its full lists of successful candidates for the 2027 general election. The lists, which cover all Federal House of Representatives and State House of Assembly constituencies across Lagos, were released in a statement from the party’s secretariat at Plot 11, ACME Road, Ogba, Ikeja.
A total of 24 candidates were named for the House of Representatives, while 40 candidates emerged for the State House of Assembly.
Notable highlights include the candidacy of Obasa Mudashiru Ajayi for Agege Federal Constituency, Hon. Benson Babajimi Adegoke retaining the Ikorodu ticket, and Faleke James Abiodun securing the Ikeja ticket. Only one female candidate, Adebano J. Olabisi (Alimosho), appears on the House of Representatives list.
Both documents were signed by Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, Chairman of the APC Lagos State Chapter, confirming them as the official lists of successful candidates for the 2027 general election.
The release of the lists sets the stage for what is expected to be a highly competitive general election, with the APC aiming to maintain its firm grip on Lagos State across all legislative seats.
Major takeaways from the Assembly list particularly include the fact that Agege Constituency 01, despite earlier controversy over primary results that his supporters had contested, will be represented by Abiola Oluwagbemiga Abiola. [Read Story Here]
It is also noteworthy that only four female candidates successfully secured the APC ticket for the State Assembly namely Meranda Lasbat Mojisola (Apapa 01), Bakare-Odunuga Barakat ho defeated incumbent Desmond Elliot (Surulere 01), Daughter of popular musician, K1, Ayinde-Marshall Damilola (Surulere 02), and Olumegbon-Lawal Lara (Lagos Island 01).
Another takeaway is that incumbents and familiar political family names feature prominently across several constituencies.
