As the rest of the world marked Global workers day, Abuja based business professionals have commended Nigerian workers, saying they have done well despite the hard economic challenge. The professionals made up of legal practitioners, business owners, management consultant and some from the public sector gave the commendation at the 5th edition of LinkedinLocal Abuja, Abuja biggest professional networking event.
Managing partner and CEO BravelCons, Fife Banks, said workers anywhere in the world are the ones that make the world go round. “So I would like to appreciate workers especially in Nigeria, you should. Do more so that we can have a viable nation’ he added.
The event which was put together by BraveCons Global, a professional services firm with the them: Organizational Prosperity: How to leverage potentials and performance to Drive productivity and profitability. Brought together distinguished professionals, executives, entrepreneurs and young people from diverse sectors for an enriching experience.
Speaking on the theme of the event, Banks noted that Government has no part in doing business but rather creating enabling environment for business people to do business efficiently and effectively.
“So if the government is doing its part and businesses are prospering then you will have a prosperous economy and Nation.
He said the LinkedinLocal Abuja 5.0 was informed of recent research carried out informing that people are looking for strategies or wisdom to help make their business thrive in this current economy.
“You know the collapse of global economy that we are seeing, so a lot of people want to ask, how do I survive? despite all these things and not just doing business for business seek. When businesses prosper, the nation prospers” Banks said.
Also speaking a legal practitioner, Shofola Osho, said the event is symbolic and an opportunity for people to come together and share ideas on how to improve productivity and add value to themself and to the organization where you work and the nation at large.
“We are a nation under development, we are growing and we expect that there will be shocks now and then, so I think the most important thing is that we stay focused, provide support to ourselves, our networks and to the government.
Osho called on Nigerians to stop castigating leaders, thinking that everyone doesn’t mean well for the country, “we have a lot of people that mean well for the country and are doing their best day and night to ensure that Nigeria survives” he said.
