The New Chairman/General Leader of the Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church (Surulere District), Lagos, Ayo Ni O, Special Apostle (Pastor) George Oluwadare Ogunleye has said that Nigeria would soon overcome her challenges if president Bola Ahmed Tinubu explore all the security apparatus that distract nation building .
Pastor Ogunleye recalled that things were better in Nigeria in the 50s, 60s and 70s, saying that Nigerians have failed to do the right things to keep the country safe.
The cleric, who spoke while addressing the media on his inauguration/investiture programme on Monday, said that members of the Nigerian Army are trying their best, but that they should do more.
“We will pray and God will touch the hearts of evil doers in Nigeria, but we are praying for peace to reign in the country. What is happening in the country is not peculiar to us.
“However, we need to work hard, pray always, obey the laws and work sincerely as Nigerians. If we love ourselves, Nigeria will be better. There is no doubt that we are facing serious challenges in the country,” he said.
According to him, the investiture starts on Tuesday, May 7 with a revival programme, while there would be meeting of Chairman/General Leader with Surulere Elders, Branch Leaders (Home and Abroad), Chapel Leaders and Unit Heads on Wednesday May 8.
He said further that there would be special prayer sessions by ordained ministers on Thursday May 9.

He used the opportunity to commend the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, who he said has been embarking on powerful development strides in the state.
“We also appreciate the efforts of the government in securing lives and properties, from man-made to environmental hazards. We will intensify prayers against the incessant fire disasters in the state, for returns to abundance in the Land and that peace and brotherly love continue to reign supreme in our dear state
“We strongly believe in the Nigerian Project, and we know that the love of God for this nation cannot be quantified. If God has raised from this nation anointed men and women of God since the time of Moses Orimolade till date, God surely has a greater purpose for this nation, beyond what the ordinary eyes can see, and leasers minds perceive.
“Nigeria is a great country, and it is going to be greater in Jesus’ Name. Let us all continue to play our parts; love God, our neighbours, obey laws and respect constituted authorities..
“Our prayer for the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is that God will continue to grant Him the wisdom, knowledge, understanding and good health to direct positively the affairs of the nation,” he said.
On his appointment, Special Apostle Ogunleye, said that it is his firm belief that as a Christian, “for everyday we spend on this planet earth, God has a purpose for it.”
“That I will be assuming the mantle of leadership of our great Church at this time could only have been divinely purposed.
“I have served the Church diligently in the past as Co-Ordinator-General of Bands, and later District General Secretary before this huge responsibility was conferred on me.
“I can, with all humility, but boldly say that Christ has been my cornerstone and on Him I build,” he said.
The cleric used the opportunity to debunk the allegation that white garments churches are diabolical, saying that the believe solely in the word of God.
He said further that they don’t collect money from people for prayers and that people would only come with Olive Oil and water for prayers without any charges by the pastor, adding that the church has been working to bring everyone together including Muslims.
On polygamy, Special Apostle Ogunleye said that the church does not believe in polygamy, but that anyone who comes to the church with more than one wife would not be discriminated against or asked to divorce any of the wives.
“Our fathers had several wives, even my father had two, but I have only one wife and I will not marry a second one.
“We have had people who came to the church with two wives, we welcomed them and they have been living peacefully even more than those with one wife.
“Polygamy is not our policy in the church unless you have married them before you joined us. We try as much as possible to discourage people from going into it,” he stated.
