Ogun State Chief Judge, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, has urged judiciary staff in the state to embrace the standard practice of keeping courts record for efficiency and enhanced productivity.
Dipeolu made the call while declaring open a 5-day training programme for staff of Ogun state judiciary on archiving and record management held at the judiciary complex, Abeokuta on Monday.
The Chief Judge who was represented by Justice Olanrewaju Mabekoje, explained that the training was part of the four weeks exercise aimed at restructuring of the archives section.
Dipeolu described court records as a silent witnesses to the administration of justice and a testament to the confidence of the public in resorting to the judiciary for justice rather than self-help and anarchy.
In a lecture entitled “Familiarisation with Documents, Case Files and Record Books” a resource person, Mrs Titilola Aluko-Arowolo, said the adoption of new method of record keeping would assist in eliminating missing of store files.
Earlier, the Chairman of the training committee, Mabekoje had explained that the training programme was pivotal to human capital development.
He explained that the training was an opportunity for participants to learn new methods about accurate documentation, proper storage of record book and files as well as timely retrieval of information contained in record books and files.
One of the participants, Mr Fatai Olawale, said the training programme would go a long way to improve service delivery for staff in archive section in Ogun judiciary.
