The Ogun Assembly has lauded the management of Abeokuta North Local Government for execution of low and medium-cost housing projects in the council area.
Mr Jemili Akingbade, Charman, House Committee on Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, gave the commendation during an oversight visit to the council Secretariat on Monday.
Akingbade applauded the Council Chairman, Mr Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, for undertaking the projects, which he said, were in line with Gov. Dapo Abiodun’s agenda.
The assembly member explained that the council leadership had also adhered to due process in execution of grassroots development programmes and projects.
He described the projects as highly beneficial to the people and a testament to good governance.
“I want to charge the council to sustain its focus on people-oriented programmes and projects with total compliance with statutory guidelines in project execution.
“The projects will significantly improve the lives of residents and serve as a hallmark of responsive governance,”he said.
Other assembly members during the visit include, Lukman Adeleye, Dickson Awolaja, Babatunde Tella, Adegoke Adeyanju, Olakunle Sobunkola, Oluseun Adesanya, Wasiu Ayodele and Yusuf Sheriff.
The committee chairman also emphasised the importance of extending developments to all communities and wards within the local government area, as well as ensuring effective staff engagement to enhance service delivery.
Responding, Oyegbola-Sodipo reaffirmed his commitment to implementation of the present administration’s agenda.
The council chairman expressed resolve to replicate his developmental strides across the four communities and 16 wards of the local government and improve staff welfare to boost productivity. (NAN)
