The Labour Party has denied the allegations that its leaders have sold the party to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and that the party gives regular report of activities to President Bola Tinubu.
A lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju had accused the party of fronting for President Tinubu and the APC ahead of the 2027 election.
A statement by Labour Party’s factional publicity Secretary, Dr Abayomi Arabambi faulted the claims of Adeyanju, describing it as inaacurate and gross misrepresentation of the party and its leaders.
Arabambi said such claims are entirely false, unfounded, and designed to mislead Nigerians. He gave assurances that the party leadership remains committed to upholding the values and principles of the LP and advancing the interests of the Nigerian people.
He said: “There hasn’t been any time or any where on record where our party National Chairman Bar Julius Abure and National Secretary Alh Farouk Umar Ibrahim ever contemplate selling our party to APC nor was there any proof to suggest that the party Leadership now gives report our party programmes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in like manner as done by the President’s Ministers and special advisers.”
Arabambi is worried that individuals like Mr. Adeyanju seeks to undermine the credibility of the Labour Party through unsubstantiated accusations, pointing out that the lawyer’s comments do not reflect an informed understanding of party administration or the constitutional functions of the National Working Committee.

He describes Adeyanju as a sponsored agent of destabilisation. “Going by the very incriminating widely circulated video on social media in which Deji Adeyanju deliberately promoted falsehoods against the party Leadership, it is therefore a statement of fact that he is a sponsored agent of destabilization and focus should not be lost on our party members and Nigerians in general that Deji Adeyanju was doing his best to bring our party and Bar Julius Abure reputation into National disrepute”
According to Dr Arabambi, the Labour Party has been steadfast in preparing for the next electoral cycle, focusing on achieving success in 2027 through lawful and democratic means.
He also reminded LP members and Nigerians at large of the recent Federal High Court’s affirmation of the leadership of Barr. Julius Abure, warning that any attempt to exploit the situation to destabilize the party will be met with firm resistance.
