Speaker of the Ogun House of Assembly, Mr Oludaisi Elemide, says the state’s Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Ade Akinsanya, must intensify efforts on road reconstruction and rehabilitation across the state.
Elemide made the call during plenary in Abeokuta while responding to the submissions of lawmakers Oluseun Adesanya and Fola Salami, who reported the situation of roads in their respective constituencies.
He however acknowledged the state government’s strides in road construction and rehabilitation, saying that more needed to be done in all parts of the state.
Earlier, Adesanya had called for palliative measures on the Stadium-Idomila-Idomowo-Barrack road in the Ijebu-North East local government area.
In his submission, Salami noted that there was need for the rehabilitation of Taju Bello- Hercules-Giwa road in the Ifo 2 State Constituency.
”This is important as it has caused flooding which affected some houses in area.
Also at plenary, the Principal-General (Creation of Office) Law, 2024″, scaled its first reading on the floor of the Assembly.
This was after the Clerk , Sakiru Adebakin, had read the bill for the first time before the State’s lawmakers.
