The Ogun State Caucus of the National Forum of Former Legislators (NFFL) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027 and declared support for Sen. Solomon Adeola as a governorship aspirant in Ogun state.
The Ogun State Coordinator of the Forum, Abiodun Abudu-Balogun stated this in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Saturday.
According to the statement, the endorsement was contained in resolutions reached at a national summit of the Forum held on Friday in Abuja.
Abudu-Balogun stated that the forum had closely monitored the performance of President Tinubu in addressing the nation’s socio-economic and security challenges and expressed confidence in his leadership capacity.
He explained that the caucus commended the President for what it described as notable economic strides and improved strategies in tackling insecurity across the country.
“The Ogun State Caucus of the National Forum of Former Legislators hereby declares its unalloyed support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
“The caucus also passed a vote of confidence in Senator Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District and serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations.
“His legislative experience, political antecedents and his consistent delivery of socio-political benefits to communities across Ogun state, the forum declares its full support for Adeola’s governorship aspiration.
“We urge him to formally declare his intention to contest, to enable mobilisation of supporters across the state,” he said.
Abudu-Balogun noted that the forum also commended Ogun state Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and former Governor, Olusegun Osoba for their roles in promoting progressive politics and political stability in the state,” he said.
