The 2023 Lagos PDP Governorship Candidate, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (JANDOR), has urged Lagosians to embrace brotherly love and kindness as the world celebrates Christmas, which commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ.
Dr. Adediran described Christmas as a celebration of a renewed relationship between God and humanity. He noted that it is a memorial of God’s love when He gave His all to express His care for mankind. He emphasized that Lagosians should focus on the message of love, peace, and sacrifice that Jesus preached during His time on earth.
JANDOR stated that everyone should love their neighbors as themselves, do good to them, and wish them well, regardless of their faith.
According to him, the state cannot progress until everyone understands that what benefits one person should also benefit others. “We must be our brothers’ keepers by showing love and seeking peace with all mankind, as Jesus taught,” he said.
He further emphasized that religious harmony, peace, and unity are essential ingredients for development to thrive. He called on religious leaders to consistently preach the message of love, peace, and good neighborliness to make society a better and safer place for all.
On Monday, December 23, Dr. Adediran hosted a Christmas get-together at his campaign office, where about 1,000 party members received bags of rice and financial support to celebrate the yuletide. Scores of party leaders in attendance were also given gifts in the spirit of the season.
It can be recalled that earlier in the year, JANDOR provided various forms of assistance to alleviate hardship among the people. In July, August, and September, he gifted over 300 party members with cash support to cushion the effects of the current economic challenges. Additionally, he donated vehicles for hailing businesses (Uber) to five party members, set up a block industry for a resident in Epe, and provided an electric wheelchair to an individual with a physical disability, among other initiatives.
Dr. Adediran reassured Lagosians of the ultimate triumph of light over darkness, as Jesus triumphed and reigned. He described the current economic hardship as a passing phase and expressed hope for a “breath of fresh air” in Lagos State.
He wished all Lagosians a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.
