Popular White-garment Church, the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church has announced plans to open a new university in Kwara State by 2026, as part of efforts to promote moral values and global evangelism.
Reverend Esther Ajayi, founder of the Love of Christ Church and Chair of the C&S Centenary Anniversary Steering Committee, confirmed the development during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, following a centenary lecture in Lagos.
According to Ajayi, construction of the university is already 80% complete. The project, she said, is central to the church’s centenary vision and reflects a commitment to grooming future leaders grounded in ethics and faith.
“With the decline in moral values, the university will serve as a buffer to amoral behaviours,” Ajayi said, adding that the institution aims to instil a values-based orientation essential for societal advancement.
Beyond academics, the university is intended to support the church’s broader evangelical mission. “We are looking at taking the gospel to Europe and the West. It is in schools that we groom persons who can take the gospel back to rescue humanity,” she explained.
Ajayi emphasized the importance of training “bold minds” capable of addressing what she described as global moral anomalies, positioning the institution as both an educational and spiritual force.
The C&S University is envisioned as a long-term investment in character development, leadership, and service, aligning with the church’s broader goal of bridging generations and nurturing purposeful change.
