The new Ondo State Governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa has announced its first set of appointments. A statement by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the governor, Segun Omojuwa named
Olugbenga Abire as Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media; Ebenezer Adeniyan, Publisher of Trace Magazine in Akure, Ondo state as the Chief Press Secretary, Smart Omodunbi as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters.
Others include Motunrayo Oyedele, Special Assistant on Photography, and Dr Temitayo Iperepolu, Special Assistant to the Governor on Domestic Affairs and Government House.
According to Omojuwa, the appointments take immediate effect.
Governor Ayedatiwa who took an oath of office on Wednesday after the death of former governor, Rotimi Akeredolu who passed away in Germany, described his former boss as a man who remained dedicated to the welfare of his people even till death, commending him for his efforts on the security of life and property in the Southwest region.
Speaking immediately after the swearing-in ceremony, in Akure, the new governor said: “Governor Akeredolu was a man of courage and conviction who always stood for the truth even at his detriment.
”I remember vividly when we had a case in court challenging our Second Term victory. He still pursued the matter of emplacing a strong security network for the people of the Southwest codenamed ‘Amotekun Corps’.” Governor Ayedatiwa said
