The Apostolic Round Table (ART ) 2.0 stakeholders have called on Politicians in Nigeria to adopt the parliamentary system of government that will enhance all inclusive governance across all region .
Apostolic Round Table a forum that incubates all religious , Traditional , Political leaders across the region brainstorm on the way forward its second edition conference tagged ” Steward of Nation ” on Thursday at Ikeja , Lagos .
Restructuring which have continuously debated at the front burner of democracy was revisited at the conference to sensitize the public toward actualizing a dream country , nurturing the unity in diversity.
Dr Akinyemi Bolaji , convener of the conference describes the Nigeria political parties as parties that lack ideology which have being one among foundations that will never bring unity in the country , because most Nigerian leaders are greedy without regards for ethics, law, humanity and will do anything to get into power as the remain emperor .
He said “a successful movement can only be built outside the political structure, such movement shouldn’t be personalized to avoid being tribalise , and being cloked in the grab of region also must be built on huge social media, it’s existence on ground in all communities and must be viable , tangibly felt by the citizen ” .
Dr Akinyemi further stated that the change phenomenon that was introduced by the All progressive Congress APC in 2015 , is yet to reflect in the lives of millions of Nigerians , as he urged the citizen to build a movement now till and end of 2026 , that will set their eyes on the ball of the game , since most movement like Obident have failed after their transition to the NASS where budget have being padded and activism is now a business profit that have frustrated the Aluta spirits that is needed to drive the revolution.
Hence , a social critic /public affairs analyst, David Ololade have faulted the present situation to the lack of respect for tradition, Culture , Religion and Language, according to him ” Nigerians have lost the values being birthed by the founding fathers , the way things are handled in the system that is why the extend of governance is yet to be actualize, ” he urged to government to prioritize local languages, local dressing , right to serve idol gods that was instil in time memorial, as it must be incubated into our school curriculum making local languages more priority than the foreign language , like Spain , Arab Nation, and other francophone counties “.
In same vein , Bishop Joseph Ighalo, an indigenous Group for Restructuring, reiterate that Nigerian must know what they want , pushing for all inclusive parliamentary system, with elders council that will oversee the activities of our Politicians in all the regions , religion leaders too should bud with other groups not making themselves annex of politics .
In national development, Bishop Ighalo insist the citizen must come together instead of concentrating on the centre , all the senators, representatives, Governors, ask their people what do they need , a good shelter , education and standard of living instead of implying the Japa syndrome.
Nigerians need a president who is doing well , making the country a productive nation , with comfortable environment, policies and reforms that will bring equity , justice, peace and love in the society.
