The club confirmed that Ogunmodede will continue his duties with the Nigerian national team as the Super Eagles prepare for a critical period of fixtures. These include the FIFA World Cup African play-offs, a potential intercontinental play-off, and the Africa Cup of Nations tournament later this year.
“The potential intercontinental play-off. and the Africa Cup of Nations later this year,” the statement read. “We firmly believe this is a period that calls for collective national support and dedication to the success of Nigerian football.”
The management expressed its full support for Ogunmodede’s engagements, stating they see him as a “valued and vital member of the Remo Stars family.” The club also said it eagerly awaits his return following the “successful completion of these national and personal engagements.”
The statement concludes with a clear message of stability, reinforcing that Ogunmodede continues to serve as the head coach of the Nigerian Premier Football League side.
