Subject: 2025 Appropriation Bill, re Vehicle Purchase
Dear Sir,
I hope this open letter meets you in sound state of health and happiness.
Without much ado, It is my intention to draw your attention to what i consider an error in the 2025 appropriation bill and hope that you will direct my observation to the right channel for corrective action.
Observation:
In the 2024 budget, the State House -HQ had a budget line item of N6 billion for the purchase of vehicles, which was used to acquire the following;
a. July 2024. 1x Cadillac SUV = N900Million
b. Aug 2024. 16x Prado SUV = N3.4Billion
c. Sep 2024. 10x Toyota Camry = N1.7Billion
Grand total. = N6 Billion
Sir, following my review of the 2025 appropriation bill, i was surprised and shocked to see the allocation of N4.7 billion by the same State House -HQ for purchase of motor vehicles, in 2025, less than 6 months after the sum of N6 billion was spent on motor vehicle by the same State House- HQ.
It is my assumption that the plan to spend N4.7B on motor vehicles by the State House-HQ is perhaps an error in the 2025 budget.
It is also my hope that you will do the needful to investigate and correct this error.
Your actions has the potential to reduce the 2025 budget deficit by a whopping N4.7 billion.
