Ogun State Muslim Council has commended President Bola Tinubu’s recognition of certain Nigerians by bestowing them a deserving National honours.
Secretary-General of the council, Alhaji Kamal’deen Akintunde, gave the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta on Friday.
Akintunde explained that the gesture was laudable, commendable and a worthy initiative, considering the contributions of honourees to the nation’s developmental growth.
He stated that the president’s decision cuts across and eschewed sentiments which underscored the value of the honour.
“That it cuts across boundaries and eschews sentiments underscores the value of the honour.“That he extended it to his perceived critics, political prisoners and others who have offended the nation shows that the president has a forgiven spirit, a core value in human’sexistence,” he said.
The secretary general noted that Tinubu’s 2025 Democracy Day address would be best described as a comprehensive reflection on his administration’s achievements and successes recorded.
“It highlighted initiatives in youth empowerment, economic reforms, and security.
“The administration has made strides in checking oil theft in the Niger Delta region and addressing thuggery and violence in certain areas.
“The President should do more in the area of security in some parts of the country. Any threat to the country’s political stability, cohesion, peace and security should be tamed,” he said.
