A local government chairman in Lagos state have restated the proposed FG sues on state governors over the local government autonomy in their states.
The executive chairman of Ibeju lekki local government area , Hon Sesan olowa rephrased the proposed federal government sue of 36 state due to the Local Government autonomy is already functional in Lagos state and some states in Nigeria
Speaking to the westng.com, the fast growing local government area chairman stated , that the FG is just trying to curb some of the states that are still operating caretakers instead of elected Chairmen of local government , whereby using the fund for something else .
In his words Hon Sesan said
” Lagos state local government is already operational with the establishment of local government commission, after passing through the legislative scrutiny, also the fund allocated from federal government to the three tier executives are being utilized judiciously for the grassroot development ”
He also further, explained that no local government chairman in Lagos state is denied their fund that is why we are building basic infrastructures for our people in the grassroot.
Hon Sesan called on the national Assembly to allow the state conducts its own local government election as other parties has being contesting and winning at the grassroots election too.
