The Lagos State Government has cautioned motorists against paying touts to park illegally on bridges and other unauthorized spaces across the city.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon. Sola Giwa, issued the warning in response to reports of private vehicle owners paying street urchins to secure parking spots in restricted areas.
Giwa urged motorists to obey road signs that clearly mark “No Parking” zones, stressing that illegal parking contributes to congestion and disrupts traffic flow.
He identified hotspots such as Ebute-Ero, Ejalonibu, Adeniji-Adele, Oyingbo, Oworonshoki, Iyana-Ipaja, and Medical Road in Computer Village, where illegal parking worsens gridlock.
Motorists were advised to follow traffic rules and avoid empowering touts who exploit public spaces for personal gain.
