The Ogun state government has reaffirmed its commitment to uphold and protect the basic rights of every child, ensuring their safety, education, and well-being.
Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, stated this on Tuesday in Abeokuta on the occasion of 2025 National Children’s Day.
Adeleye explained that the state recognised the joy and innocence children brought into lives.
She noted that government would continue to thrive towards a brighter future of every child.
” On this day celebrating our nation’s greatest assets, we are reminded as individuals, ministry, and government of the need to promote their well being and protect their rights as outlined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
” As we celebrate this year, there is an increasing need for everyone of us to raise awareness on issues that affect access to quality education for our children, in appreciating that they are the future of society.
” As parents, guardians and caregivers, let us continue to encourage creativity in children to express themselves through activities that celebrate their talents and voices.
