In a bid to promote academic excellence and reward outstanding performance among secondary school students, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has launched the “Imole Statewide Public and Private Schools Students SSCE Scholarship.” The initiative, announced on Thursday, aims to recognize and support top-performing students in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) across the state.
The scholarship, supported by the Electronic Collections Group (ECG), will benefit students from both public and private schools in all 30 local government areas and the area office of Osun State. Governor Adeleke, while unveiling the programme, emphasized its role in fostering intellectual growth and improving educational standards in the state.
“This scholarship is designed to reward academic excellence and encourage our students to strive for greatness,” Governor Adeleke stated.
“The overall best-performing student in the SSCE will receive a ₦1,000,000 scholarship, while the best students from public and private schools in each local government will be awarded ₦100,000 each.”

In addition to individual student awards, the initiative will also recognize schools and teachers for their contributions to academic success. The best-performing public and private schools will each receive a ₦500,000 educational support fund to enhance their academic programmes.
Teachers of the top students in each local government will also be rewarded with gift items as a token of appreciation for their dedication.
“This initiative underscores our administration’s commitment to improving educational standards and fostering intellectual growth among Osun students,” Governor Adeleke said. “I urge teachers and school administrators to prepare their students adequately for the 2025 WAEC SSCE and ensure they perform exceptionally well to qualify for these awards.”
The scholarship winners will be officially announced upon the release of the SSCE results. The governor expressed optimism that the program would motivate students to excel academically and contribute to the development of the state.
