Dr. Bamidele Ganiyu Ajadi, Deputy National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has stepped down as Chairman of the Governing Council of Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan. His resignation took effect on July 1, 2025.
The announcement was confirmed in a resignation letter obtained by Inside Oyo on Thursday in Ibadan, the state capital.
In the letter, Dr. Ajadi cited potential political conflicts as the primary reason for his decision. He explained that continuing in the role could compromise his dedication to his party, the ADC.
“I am honestly convinced that remaining as Chairman of the Governing Council would create a conflict of political interest, which could negatively affect my commitment to the ADC as a national officer,” he stated.
Dr. Ajadi emphasized that he has no intention of leaving the ADC and that his resignation was a principled choice. “I am not planning to resign my membership of ADC, and I believe it is time for me to step down based on principle,” he added.
He also expressed appreciation to the state governor for the opportunity to serve. “I am sincerely grateful to Your Excellency for the opportunity given. I greatly valued the chance to serve as Chairman of the Governing Council,” he said.
