The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has suspended former Deputy National Chairman Chief Olabode George and 23 other members. The Disciplinary Committee announced the decision on Friday in a statement signed by its chairman, Elder Kayode Ogunbiyi, and secretary, Barrister Desmond Agbo.
According to the committee, the party can no longer tolerate conduct likely to cause disaffection among members.
The suspensions followed a meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, where the committee reviewed petitions against several members. The allegations included anti-party activities and deliberate violations of the PDP constitution.
The committee also reaffirmed the suspension earlier placed on George by the National Executive Committee.
Other affected members include Chief (Mrs.) Aduke Maina, Dr. Abimbola Ogunkelu, Hon. Rita Orji, H.E. Mrs. Kofoworola Bucknor, Chief (Mrs) Onikepo-Oshodi, Dr. Adetokunbo Pearse, Hon. Setonji Koshoedo, Prof. O. Otubanjo and several others.
The committee said the suspended persons can no longer participate in any PDP activities in Lagos State. They cannot represent the party in any capacity.
“Our committee has recommended strict legal procedures be instituted against any of the suspended persons who continue to act contrary to the interests of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State,” the statement read.
